Another organization directly related to energy management is the Association of Professional Energy Managers (APEM). At one time not so long ago, APEM had a national organization that provided support to state chapters.
A very relevant organization to the energy management industry, APEM lost a little umph during the Bush years due to the lack of national administration interest (remember “drill baby drill”?) in energy efficiency and renewable energy.
Oregon has maintained their chapter – even formed their own non-profit and pulled away from a failing national organization – and offers quarterly forums, an active e-mail listserv that includes job postings, ask the expert, and a host of other resources including a Building Simulation Users Group.
